STOCKS AND SHARES.

BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

Business was brighter on the Stock Exchange yesterday. In mining lines Waihis showed an upward tendency, the shares being dealt in at from 66s 9d to 675, to 67s 9d. Later sellers quoted 68s 6d, and buyers 67s 9d. Waihi Grand Junctions were also firmer, and changed hands at 28s 3d, more being inquired for at 28s 6d, buyers quoting 28s. Waihi-Paeroas (con.) realised 30s, further inquiries being made for shares at 295, no sellers quoting. In investment stocks South British were exchanged at 745, more being on offer at 74s 3d, with no declared buyers. Business was done in Auckland Gas at 68s 6d and 695, with further sellers at 695, and buyers at 68s 6d. Taupiri Coals were disposed of at 21s 6d.

Talisman shares were sold in Auckland yesterday at 50s, later buyers quoting 49s 9d, and sellers 50s 3d. The Wellington quotations were : Buyers, 49s 6d; sellers, 50s 3d.
