OBITUARY.
MRS. KATHERINE THURSTON.
By Telegraph.Press Association.—Copyright. London, September 6. Mrs. Katherine Thurston, the authoress, has been found dead in bed.
Mrs. Katherine Thurston was an Irishwoman, and was the author of a number of novels, the most noted being " John Chilcote, M.P.," published in 1904. Another which had . some vogue was " The Fly on the Wheel," published two years ago. In 1901 she married Ernest Temple Thurston, the author of "The Apple oi Eden" (1897 and 1905), "The Evolution of Katherine," and other novels. She obtained a divorce from him last year on the grounds of misconduct and desertion. It was stated in evidence that the husband had insisted on living in the slums of Soho for the purpose of obtaining material for writing a realistic novel.
