PRICE OF HORSE FEED.
ALLEGED DUNEDIN COMBINE. [Br TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] Dttnedin, Thursday. At to-night's meeting of the Trades and Labour Council a petition addressed to the Hon. J. A. Millar was received from over 100 livery stable and cab proprietors, contractors, carriers, etc., in reference to the alleged existence in Dunedin of a combine consisting of the principal stock and station agents, formed solely for the express purpose of keeping up the price of horse feed. The petition asked the Minister to give the matter consideration with' a to bringing into operation anti-trust legislation, and also advocated the establishment of a Government market and the exemption from duty of horse feed imported from Australia. The petition was 1 endorsed by the Council.
