The weather was perfect for training operations yesterday morning, and a large number of how* were galloped, liile the usual amount of useful work was accomplished, some interesting gallops were witnessed. Tlio inner gnus*, tan, grass, and sand tracks were available, but the grass track is getting hard.

Sea Eii started off by beating Poictiers over four furlongs in 50 4-ss. on th« sand. Delegate, without assistance, traversed a, circuit of the sand in 2m. 3s.

Makura and Miss Explosion were restricted to useful pacing-. Old Maid sprinted three furlong* nicely in 40s. Mi* Winsome was allotted half-pace work, the Avondale Guineas filly moving" freely. Monathol disposed of six furlongs resolutely in lit). 23.?.

Te Aroha Jockey Club's new course will he a. great improvement on the old one. It has been ploughed and sowed with great care, and the club lias erected a sloping fence in accordance with the recommendation of the Racing Commissioners. This will minimise danger to horses and jockeys. Mr. Nash is retiring from tho position of secretary, much to the regret of every member. Under his careful and able administration the finances of the club have been placed 9n a secure foundation, and with a good meeting next March the club should take a distinct step up in the ranks of racing institutions. WAIKATO HUNT CLUB'S MEETING. On the occasion of the Waikuto Hunt Club's meeting to-morrow a special train will leave Auckland for Cambridge at 7.30 a.m., leaving Cambridge on the return journey at 5.20 p.m. Holiday excursion laws are to fro charged.
