The Danish barquentine Car la has been chartered to load pine at Karamea for Sydney. Now en route from New York to New Zealand ports with case oil, the Vacuum, Oil Company's two chartered steamers Lord Lonsdale (4200 tons) and Wa'.kure (3836 tons) will, upon completion of discharge, proceed to Newcastle to load for the west coast of America. " The" Union Company is reported to hare engaged the Norwegian cargo steamer Skogstad on time charter. . She is due at Newcastle from Natal, and is to load at the former port tomorrow for Lyttelton and other South Island ports. The Skogstad is a vessel of 3655 tons gross and 2357 tons net, built in 1906, by R. Thompson and Sons, Limited, Sunderland, and engined by J.- Dickinson and Son, Limited, Sunderland. She is owned by A. F. Klaveness and Co., Christiania, Norway. THE NGAHERE.. The Blackball Coal Company's collier Ngahere arrived from Greymouth at 10 a.m. on Saturday with a cargo of coal. She proceeded up to Chelsea to discharge, after which she returns to Greymouth. THE HAUPIRI. The Union Company's steamer Haupiri arrived from Greymouth, via Gisborne and East Coast bays, at b o'clock on Saturday night and berthed at" the Queen-street Wharf. She sails at 6 p.m. to-day for Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington, via Limestone Island and East Coast bays. WIMMERA FROM SOUTHEN PORTS. After a fine weather passage the HuddartParker steamer Wimmera, Captain William Waller, arrived from Southern and East Coast ports at 9 a.m. yesterday, berthing at the Hobeon-street Wharf. The purser reports that departure was taken from Dunedin on Tuesday afternoon list, and calls were made' at all East Coast ports en route, the vessel taking her final departure from Gisborne at 11 a.m. on Saturday, .. arriving as above. In continuation of her voyage, the vVimmera sails at 5 p.m. to-day for Sydney direct. SYDNEY STEAMER ARRIVES. At 11.30 am. yesterday the Huddart-Parker steamer Victoiit, Captain G. ?. Entwisle, arrived in the stream at Auckland from Sydney direct. After being granted pratique by the port health officer, sho' berthed at the Queen-street barf. The purser (Mr. S. Patrick) reports: The Victoria cleared Sydney at 12.30 p.m. on Wednesday last, had Oape Maria Van Diemen abeam at 8.15 p.m. on Saturday, and arrived as above, her passage across thus occupying 3 days 21 i hours, after alJc^ring 1 for the hour, and a-hali difference in time, exceptionally fine weather was encountered throughout the passage.
