Tho ordinary general . meeting of shareholders in Bremner's Freehold Gold Mining Company, Ltd., was held in the office of the secretary (Mr. J. W. Nichol), yesterday afternoon. Mr. E. T. Bain presided over' a good attendance. The directors, in presenting their first annual report stated that 4400z 3dwt of bullion had been won from the mine, valued at £1219 16s 6d. "' This was obtained from 14 tons of general ore, and about 10501b of picked stone and specimens. Two of the directors visited the mine in June, and found all work done satisfactorily. After thoroughly inspecting the . workings, they decided to temporarily suspend all the' works then in progress, and explore on Bremner's No. 1 reef by driving north upon it, both in No. 1 adit level and No. 1 level. It is intended to continue driving on Bremner's No. 1 reef •to the northern, boundary; also at intervals, say 50ft, to crosscut east to explore Bremner's No, 2 reef, and other small leaders known to exist' there. If this system of development, which is being vigorously . pushed ahead at the present, is carried out in the future we have every hope of meeting with success, as those developments v/ill bring operations to a point vertically underneath Tiernan's rich run of specimens that were obtained some 25 or 30' years ago, but owing to water trouble then, could not be explored at depth. Messrs. T. Vivian and J. McGregor were re-elected to the directorate, and Mr. C. A."' Churton was reappointed auditor. , • •
