The barque Bona arrived at Hokianga from Auckland on Saturday morning. The 'Gisborne Harbour Board's dredge Maui, which has Just completed an extensive overhaul at Auckland, leaves to-morrow for Gisborne. MAHENO FROM SYDNEY. At 10 a.m. yesterday the Union Company'* turbine steamer Maheno, Captain Livingstone, anchored in the stream at Auckland from Sydney direct, after a passage of 3 days 21 i hours. After being granted pratique by the port health officer, she berthed at the Queen-street Wharf shortly after noon. The purser reports that departure was taken from Sydney at 12.25 p.m. on Wednesday last, the vessel experiencing fresh south-south-east winds, with . considerable easterly swell, till Saturday, thence smooth seas and light ' variable 7 winds to arrival. The Maheno sails on the return voyage to Sydney at 5.30 p.m. to-day. ' v • * THE HYNDFORD. The steamer Hyndford, which arrived at Auckland from New York late on Friday night, berthed at the Queen-street Wharf on Saturday morning to discharge the Auckland portion of her cargo of case oil. Her voyage throughout was uneventful, line weather generally being experienced, with the exception of a heavy gale, which -lasted for 24 hours, when the vessel was two days out from Newcastle. After discharge here the Hyndford proceeds to Wellington, thence Lyttelton and Dunedin. On' completion of her discharge at the .latter port the Hyndford goes to Newcastle to load Qoal for South America.
