[BY telegraph.—own coksespondest.] Hamilton, Monday. The formal, opening of the Hamilton High School took place this morning, when some 70 pupils were present. The headmaster (Mr. E. . Wilson) and Mr. George Edgecombe (chairman of the Board of Governors) briefly addressed the children. Besides the High School classes, pupils from the Matangi, Marsh Meadows, Ohaupo, and Frankton schools were instructed to-day in cooking and woodwork. The main building comprises four classrooms, a laboratory, and a domestic science room. A balance-room is attached to the laboratory, and a kitchen, fitted with a cooking range, gas stove, and iron heater, to the domestic science room. A teachers' common-room, opening on to a concrete balcony, is -provided upstairs, while the headmaster's room has an office added for storing records. Careful attention has been paid to lighting and sanitation, and the whole building is designed so,that it may bo conveniently added to as occasion demands. In a separate building accommodation is provided for an engineering and plumbing shop, woodwork room, and a dairy with two storerooms.' The official opening by the Hon. George Fowlds (Minister for Education) will take place at three p.m., on Wednesday..
