A TIRED JURY.
At the- close, of the Masson v. Richardson libel case at the Supremo Court yesterday, and after bringing in their verdict, the jury added the following rider:—"That owing to the Court being in the centro of the building, and thereby being absolutely shut out from the sun's rays, we, the jury in this case, respectfully urgo that, tho building should bo provided with a boating system. Ilia Honor: Yes; thank you, gentlemen. The Foreman: Wo have another matter jo bring under Your Honor's notice. \\o have now served practically three weeks as jurors—it is going into the fourth week and I am asked to request that this present jurv bo exempted for tho next three years. The jurors this session have liad a very trying time. Personally, I have been on tho jury in four oases, and during the civil sittings have been in this box almost the whole of tho time. His Honor: i. do not know whether I have tho power. Mr. J. R. Heed: I believe it has l>ecn done. His Honor: la it, not rather a large request, gentlemen? However, I suppose we liavo something liko 100,000 people in Auckland fitted for jury service, and 1 will do it if I can.
