SWEPT BY A HURRICANE
DAMAGE,IN NEW HEBRIDES,
By Telegraph.—Press Association.— Sydney, May 25. Particulars of the recent hurricane it the New Hebrides, when ten vessels wenl ashore and two whites and six natives were drowned, ehow that the effects were more devastating than was at first reported. The storm was general throughout the group. Houses were unroofed and blown down at Aneityum and Tanna, and it is supposed that several recruiting vessels besides the ten reported were blown ashore.
The steamer Malaita had a trying experience and lost her deck cargo and fittings.
