London, May 24. j The hearing of the petition for the unseating of the member for Hull Central on the ground of illegal treating of electors has been commenced.
Evidence was tendered as to gifts of coal having been made on the eve of the elections, 64 of the recipients being voters and 136 relatives of voters.
The candidates concerned in the Hull Central contest are Sir H. S. King (Unionist) and Dr. E. W. Aske (Liberal). The former was returned by a majority of 207 votes.
