NATIVE SHOT DEAD.
INDECENCY TO WHITE GIRL.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. Capetown, May 23. A leading citizen of Bulawayo named Lewis, yesterday went to a local newspaper office and caused the native newsboys to be paraded. Having identified one whom he accused of making indecent overtures to his girl, he marched the native to a vacant piece of ground behind the office and shot him dead.
Lewis then surrendered to the police, and was arrested on a charge of murder, being released on bail totalling £3000.
Public opinion is entirely favourable towards him.
