AUCKLAND LABOUR PARTY.
A meeting of the Auckland branch of ' the New Zealand Labour party was held last evening. Several new members were ', enrolled. Letters were received from several outside unions approving of the run- , ing of a Labour ticket for the City Council (candidates, Messrs. W. S. Moxsom, E. . Cronin, T. Walsh), and asking for. particulars as to establishment of branches. A public meeting will be held at St. James's Hall . next week to* discuss election matters. ' The Dominion Council reported having secured the services of Mr. T. W. Mills, : of' the United States, for a series of lectures in New Zealand between June and ' August. Mr. Whiting, president of the ' Christchurch Trades and Labour Council, ' attended, and was accorded a warm welcome. He , conveyed fraternal greetings . from Southern branches, and addressed the ' branch. Literature relative to the methods ' of organising, etc., was received from New ; South Wales and Victoria Labour parties, accompanied by best wishes for success of ' independent Labour in New Zealand.
