DISAPPOINTED LAND SEEKERS.

The Commissioner submitted a synopsis of tho land offered for settlement in tho Auckland district during tho year 1910 at the meeting of tho Auckland Land Board yesterday. The synopsis showed that 665 sections, aggregating 110,461 acres, had been offered, and 7025 applications had been received. There were 26 ballots and sales. A total of 626 selections on various tenures had be-on approved by the Board, making the total area selected 118,989 acres. There were 306 selections under occupation with right of purchase, 182 renewable lease, 54 cash (excluding auction), 58 pastoral runs, and' 26 under other tenures.

Ballots took place at the Auckland Lands Office yesterday in respect to the Waimana Settlement and other land.

There were eight applicants for section 67, Block IL, Wliangane S.D. ; area, 370 acres, O.R. P. tenure. C. A. Walker, of alalia, Hukerenui, was successful. Section 2, Block 111., Harataunga, of 436 acres, renewable lease: W. Lilies, Cabbage Bay, Coromandel, was tho only applicant. Section 21, Waimana Settlement, 751 acres, renewable lease: Two applicants, the section falling to S. 15aland, Gisborne. Section 371, Waipu parish, 77 acres, renewable lease Throe applicants: W. A. Yeldman, Waipu. Section 103, Mangawai parish, 73 acres, O.Pv.P. tenure; five applicants: E. Yardley, Opotiki. Sections (east) 211 and 212, Pukeatua parish, 127 acres, O.R.P. tenure three applicants: J. Poynt-on, Dairy Flat, Auckland. Section 164, Waimana parish, 69 acres, O.R.P. tenure; seven applicants: A. J. Sitt, Birkdale. Section 6, Block 111., Rotoma survey district, 582 acres, O.R.P. tenure: E. Brien, Newstead, Cambridge, was tlio only applicant. Twelve sections still remain to bo applied for.

The Board resolved, to open the following sections under the optional tenure: —Section 61, Kaeo parish, 47 acres, at 10s per acre; section 56, Whan gape, 45 acres, at 15s; section 97, Komakorau, 54 acres, at 20,-;. Also the following sections under renewable lease: —Section 12, Block IV.. tan a hamlet, two acres odd, cash value per acre £32; section 5, Block IV., Hetana hamlet, three acres, at £15 sections 134 and 135, Block XIII., Cambridge S.D., Matamata Settlement, containing 2956 acres, cash value per acre ss, weighted with £536 12s for improvements. The following sections are to be offered for auction: — Section 1, Block VIII., Purua, 15 acres, at £30 per acre, plus £206 17s for improvements; total price, £669 46 6d. Section 2, Block Vni., Purua, 10 acres, at £26 per acre, plus £247 8s for improvements; total price, £510 16s 3d. Section 3, Block VIII., Purua, 21 acres, at £22 per acre, plus £154 10s for improvements; total price, £621 17s 3d. Section 4, Block VIII., Purua, 15 acres, at £20 per acre, plus £193 10s for improvements; total price, £511 2s 6d.
