A PLEA FOR IMPROVEMENT.

CniusTCinjßCiT, Thursday. As an outcome of an address given by Mr. W. D. Lysnar yesterday on tho conditions under which the Dominion's frozen meat is handled at London, tho president (Mr. O. F. Clothier) of the North Canterbury Provincial Executivo of the Farmers' Union to-day forwarded tho following cable messages, replies to which are expected to-morrow:—-
" Town Clerk, Guildhall, London. At a, largo and influential public meeting of producers, held in Canterbury yesterday, the meeting unanimously agreed to support tho request of the New Zealand Committee to your corporation to improve the Smithfiokl upon all heads. Trust speedy action." " Port. London Authority, London. At a largo and influential public meeting of pro-, ducers, held in Canterbury yesterday, under the auspices of tho North Canterbury Farmers' Union, the meeting unanimously adopted tho resolution already cabled you by the Napier producers. Trust speedy action."
