NEW HEBRIDES.

FIRE-WATER AND FIREARMS.

By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.

Sydney, January 24. The French member of the New Hebrides Condominium Court denies that the increased sale of liquor is due to laxity or favouritism on his part. The sale of alcohol and weapons to the natives would cease only when the joint Court had means of visiting all the islands with facility. He hoped the French and British Governments would come to an arrangement to supply the Court with a special vessel to make frequent circuits. (Received January 24, 9.20 p.m.) Sydney, January 24. Judge Roseby, the English judge of the Condominium Court in the New Hebrides, is visiting Sydney. He states that the Court is not yet in thorough working order. The judges have been engaged in compiling rules of procedure. Owing to his judicial position, he is unable to say anything regarding the recent statements by missionaries. ■ • :
