RIFLE SHOOTING.

AKARANA RIFLE CLUB.

THE members of the Akanuia Rifle Clnb fired m sections for the Coombes, .Shepherd, and Skinner trophies at the Penrose Rifle Range on Saturday afternoon, tile ranges beans ,600 yds and 700 yds, with 10 shots at each. The shooting, generally speaking, was more than up to the average, Rifleman Cox, the winner, and Rifleman Parslow, the runner-up for the Coombes trophy in class A', registering exceedingly good totals. A triangular shooting match took place at Waikino on Saturday, between teams representing No. 1 Ohinemuri Rifle Vojiinteers. No. 3 Ohinemuri Rifle Volunteers (Waihi), and the Waikino Rifle Club. The conditions were eight men a-side, with.; seven shots at 200 yds, 500 yds. and 600 yds, No. 3 (Waihi) winning by 27 points from, No. 1 (Paeroa), and Paeroa defeating the Waikino ciub by four points. "Rifleman: Davies put up the fine score of 99 for his club, the next best being 97, by Private S. Clark, for Waihi. Sergeant Moore was top-scorer for Paeroa, with 95.
