THE FARMERS' UNION.
A meeting of the executive of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union will bo held in Auckland on January 19, when the members of Parliament representing the district will be invited to attend to discuss matters affecting tho farming interests.
The special pork truck that has been put on by the Railway Department 011 the early train from Mercer to Auckland at the request of the union during the past fortnight has been taken advantage of by several farmers, but not to the extent {hat might, have been expected. , As an increase of traffic ;s expected it -is intended to ask the Department, to continuo the truck for a second month.
