BLOODSTOCK SALES.

THE New Zealand Loan, and Mercantile Company conducted a sale of yearlings, horses, and brood mares on Saturday morning, at the Harp of Erin stables, when there was a large attendance of owners and sportsmen. Mr. 'H. 0. Nolan conducted the sale, 33 lots being scheduled. Bidding dragged along slowly, and. out of 32 lots offered, only 13 changed hands. Tho equities disposed of made 479(,m5. between them, an average of a little under 37gns. each. Mr. John Lynch, of Coromandel, offered six, including a yearling half-brother to Kapanga,, and the brood mares Golden Rose and Yankee Mary (dam of Roosevelt). There was no bid for the yearling, Golden Rose was passed at lOOgns., while Yankee Mary (stinted to Obligado) went to Mr. F. Loomb at Signs. Mr. E. W. Alison disposed of Ills Highness for 57gns., and Monocle for 25gns. The Waikato breeder, Mr. J. McNicol, submitted four, which were sold for a total of 234gns. These included a Cuirassier—Signet 11. three-year-old gilding, half-brother to Turbine, and a three-vear-old half-sister to Uranium. The former went to the Auckland sportsman who races under the name of Mr. W. Lang, while •Mr. R. Hannon secured the half-sister to Uranium. The bargain of the day was the well-bred brood mare Delania, who went to Mr. 11. R. Mackenzie at 55gns., and joins the Ascot Stud Farm matrons at Mangere.
