AREAS FOR TWO MONTHS.

Ti£e area of land opened for selection throughout the Dominion during December was 16,028 acres. Of this area 1877 acres were situated in Auckland province. The land in the provincial ' district offered for application for cash, occupation with right of purchase, or renewable lease, was as "follows:—-First-class: '"Promt survey district—l9o acres and 182 seres. Secondclass: Waipoua survey district — 213|acres, Iverikeri, Rnapekapeka, Kohuma.ru, and Owhiwa parishes', and Takahue and Mangamuka survey districts (total area, 790 acres). First-class land was offered for renewable lease as follows:Maungatautari survey district (Tautari settlement): 475 acres and seven perches. Three sections, Titirangi survey district (Ho'tana Hamlet): Total area, 12 acres) three roods 26 perches. Waharoa township (Mat&mata settlement): 3i- acres. Matamata township: One rood. Thirty-seven sections of town land at Papakura, totalling 10 acres wore offered by auction.

During January 77.373 acres will bo opened throughout the Dominion. The following are details of the land to be opened in the Auckland provincial district: — On Friday, January 13, tenders will close for tho lease, for 14- years of areas in Tauhoa parish, totalling 51 -acres. On January 20, 714- acres in Nga.roto parish will be sold by public auction at Hamilton, and on the,same date 163 town sections in Paeroa township will he offered at Paeroa.

On Monday, January 23, there will bo disposed of 370 acres at Whu.ugape, 286 acres at Omapere, and a total of 686 acres in tho Mangouui, Mangawai, Pukeatua, and Waimana parishes. At Rotoura 582 acres aro available, and 25 at Iverikeri. In the Harataunga survey district 436 acres of secondclass land will bo offered for renewable lea. and at Waimana and Pa rote re 2751 acres under the same conditions. A total of 1728 acres of second and third-class land is available in Harataunga, Waipu, Omapere, and surrounding _ parishes. In tho Hauraki mining district 3262 acres of pastoral land will be offered for lease, with right of renewal.

On Tuesday, January 31, applications will close at Auckland and Thames for the lease with right of purchase of 33 sections of a total area of 5222 acres in tho Hauraki Plains.
