A MISSING BOOKMAKER.

FINED FOR STREET BETTING.

Victor McDcff, a bookmaker, was charged at the Police Court yesterday, before Mr. E. C. Cut-ten, S.M., with making a bet in Queen-street, and using the street for betting purposes. It wa« stated that the man had done nothing but booLmaking of late, and was always on the street for the purpose of making bet*. Ho had now left Auckland, and had also ileffc,liabilities in the city. He was fined £80 on the first offence, and £20 on the second, and costs.
