By Telegraph Press Association.— Copyright London, November 17. The Cunard Shipping Company has invited tenders for a steamer of 50,000 tons, with a speed of 23 knots, and to carry 3790 passengers.

GROWTH OF ATLANTIC LINERS. The distinction of being the largest vessel has not been held for long by one liner during the past five years, but the Great Eastern held the right to the title for more than 40 years. The Great Eastern began her trans-Atlantic service on July 17, 1860.
