HER HIGHBORN LOVER.

CURT NOTE DRIVES GOVERNESS TO SUICIDE. Mlle. Jkaxettk Miguel, a pretty French governess, who a few months ago was engaged by the Princess of Pless (the Duchess of Westminster's sister) to give her eldest | son lessons in French, has committed suicide in sad circumstances. The girl left the princess's house in GrossLichterfelde in a state of agitation that no one could account for. The same night her body was found in the Teltow Canal in the outskirts of Berlin. When her room was searched the following note signed by a prominent man in Berlin society was found : — "Beloved.—lt is impossible. I haven't any time to-day. Everything else by letter to-morrow," Evidently Mile. Miguel looked upon this letter as evidence that" her high-born lover was growing tired of her, and in a moment of mental aberration drowned herself.
