BROKERS AND BUYERS.

A WOOL SALE DISPUTE. [by TELEGRAPH. association.] Christchurch. Thursday. To-day's wool sale, the first of the season, was delayed four hours by a dispute between the woolbrokers and buyers as to conditions of gale. The association issued a circular last night to buyers setting out that all wool would heve to bo paid for before it left the ■ stores in Christchurch. Buyers objected to having this change sprung on them at short notice. At 11 a.m. the buyers announced that if the eale proceeded on the old conditions they would endeavour to meet the brokers' views before the next sale. About one o'clock the parties had apparently come to terms, but no official statement was made. An informal meeting was held this evening between woolbrokers and wool-buyers, but nothing further has done in regard to the dispute. It is still hoped that .satisfactory arrangements will be come to by which each party's responsibilities will be fairly recognised.
