Ik the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Lee (late Minister for Works) moved an amendment to the Address-in-Reply, to the effect that the action of the Government in refusing the people the right, to acquire in tha future the freehold of lands for settlement purposes, is inimical to the best interests of the State.
