AT a well-attended meeting, it was decided to form the South Auckland Coursing Club, and officers were appointed as follows:— Patron, Mr. H. J. Greenslade, M.P.: president, Mr. Norden; vice-presidents, Messrs. Young, Abbott, Hooper, Bright, Coghlan, Gwynne, Manning, Bell. Goodwin, Tristram, Rowland, Marker, Teddy, Brind, Thomas, Doyle (Cambridge), Spencer (Auckland), Tapp. Harris, jnn., old water (Te Aroha), George Crosby (Paeroa). Hawkins (Karangahake). Honeybun and Fathers (Waihi), Clarkin (Eureka), Newell (Tamahere); committee, Messrs. Wakem, Edgar, Cook, Pearce, Scott, Combes. Tapp, Quick, Tris- ; tram. Hughes, Elliott, and Evans: secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. B. Scott. It was decided to fix the membership fee at £1 Is for those who run dogs, and 10s 6d for ordinary members. A small committee was appointed to endeavour to make arrangements for a suitable ground near the town. The chairman said the New Zealand Coursing Association had been communicated with, and although a definite promise had not been given, hopes had been held out that tho disqualification resting on a number of Auckland dogs would be removed. If this were done, there appeared to be little doubt but that the project would be a success.
