She also brought 1250 cases apples ex Mokoia and Maraposa. from San Francisco. The Tongariro will leave for London, via Wellington, this afternoon. The Northern Company's steamers Tasman and Aupouri are bar-hound at Ohiwa. The Matatua is bringing a number of thirdclass passengers for Auckland from London. The new Tyger liner Indrabarah is expected to leave Sydney to-day for Auckland, and is due here about Wednesday next. The steamer Tofua left Svdney at 6 a.m. on Wednesday for Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, and Auckland, aDd is due here on November 3. The Waihora left Westport on Tuesday at 1 p.m. for Suva direct with coal. After discharge the Waihora loads uugar for Auckland. 'The Talune went into dock at Port Chalmers on Monday morning. She is making preparations for entering the Island running from Auckland. The barque Rona, which left the Bluff on October 1 for Auckland, is bringing a cargo of 10,485 sacks of barley, wheat, oats, etc., for this port. The Northern Company's steamer Waiotahi will leave for Tauranga to-day at 5.15 p.m., and the Chelmsford for Mercury Bay and Tairua at 9 p.m. The Huddart-Parker steamer Wimmera. which left Sydney for Auckland.at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, has 110 passengers and 1100 tons of cargo for this port. Captain Carson, of the Hauroto, which arrived . from the South last night, reports passing a five-masted schooner, timber laden, off the Great Barrier yesterday. The collier Kini left Westport at 5 a.m. on ' Wednesday for New Plymouth and Onehunga. She is now due at the latter port, and after discharge proceeds to New Plymouth and Grey- * mouth. The Wanaka left the Bluff at 3 p.m. yesterday *or Oariiaru, Timaru, and Auckland. The steamer is to load produce at Oamaru and Timaru to-day and Saturday, and is clue here about Wednesday next. . While drawing to the side of the stream at Port Chalmers to await the passing of the Ulimaroa on Sunday the Victoria found the sandbank and remained- stationary for a brief period, but floated off with the rising tide. The Rosamond has been delayed by bad weather on the passage from Nelson to New Plymouth, and it is possible that her departure from One- - > hunga may be postponed till Saturday. The Nelson Harbour Board lias notified that until further notice the Board's dredge will be employed dredging in the channel through the inner mudbank. A red flag will be hoisted on the staff on the side on which vessels are required to pass, and masters of vessels are warned that they must go slow when passing the dredge. IMUROTO FROM SOUTHERN PORTS. The Union Company's steamer, llauroto, Captain Carson, arrived ' from Dunedin, via ports, at 9.30 p.m. yesterday, and berthed at the Queen-street Wharf. Leaving Dunedin at 4 p.m. on October 7 the steamer experienced fine weather and moderate seas till arrival at Gisborne. thence head winds and heavy seas till arrival. The llauroto is timed to leave for Dunedin, via ports, at noon on Saturday. SQUALL ARRIVES. The steamer Squall arrived at 8.50 p.m. yesterday from Gisborne. Leaving Gisborne at. 11.20 turn. o,n Tuesday, the steamer encountered heavy head seas and high winds throughout the voyage. THE MELBOURNE. The steamer Melbourne arrived from Wellington at 7 p.m. yesterday, after a protracted voyage from Wellington, and anchored in the stream. Leaving Wellington on Monday last, the steamer experienced head winds and very high seas throughout the voyage. The steamer brings a pari, cargo of coal from Newcastle, and will berth at the Railway Wharf this morning to discharge, after which she will proceed to the Great Barrier to load timber for Sydney. , { i j
