WAIUKU RAILWAY LEAGUE.
[nwM crn own* coihiksi'o.vdkxt.] The annual meeting of the Mauku branch of the Waiuku Railway league was hold in the Patumahoe Hall, on Saturday Sep t-ember 24, and was largely attended, ihe leport and balance-sheet showed a credit of £3 5s lOd. The following officers were elected for (he ensuing year: President. Mr. J. Henry; vice-presidents Messrs; J. B. Golds worthy, and T A* Kemp; committee, Messrs. J. Schlatter' E. C. Guff, A. Moore, W. Howard, T Watson, W. S. Pleydell and C. Crispe • secretary and treasurer. Mr. F. Lulav • auditor, Mr. IT. E. R. Wilv. ' Ihe Chairman in his address, pointed out that much good had been done by this branch in taking members of Parliament and other prominent persons over the country the proposed line was intended to serve. These gentlemen, including the Minister for Public Works, were "very favourably impressed. The meeting unanimously agreed with the chairman" that members must not be content to let the matter rest, on present promises, but must individually and collectively, be on the alert, and make use of every opportunity that will assist in making" 'he l : ne an accomplished fact*
