COROMANDEL GUN CLUB.
[BY TELEGRAPH.OWN" CORRESPONDENT-] Coromanoel, Monday. ■The general shoot of the Coromandel Gun Club was held on Saturday last. There was a good .attendance, among whom , were several ladies. The shooting was keenly contested. The following are the results: Five-bird Match, for amateurs, for a trophy presented by Air. W. Turner: A. H. McNeil, E. A. Clark, and W. Loram tied with four kills in each. The shoot - eff resulted in a win for A. H. McNeil: The second event was a five-bird match for a trophy presented by Mr. J. Bridson. In this A. E. Clark and W. Loram tied, ■with four kills erx-h. In the shoot-off W. Loram won. Open competition, for a trophy presented by Air. Pet-ley, five birds. There were 13 competitors, and J. Strathern and W. Turner tied with five kills each. In the- shoot-off J. Strathern won. Afternoon lea was then handed round by the ladies, M. T. Campbell very ably assisting. Practice was indulged in, which brought a very enjoyable afternoon to a •close. The committee met in the evening for the purpose of selecting the team to shoot against the volunteer on Saturday next. The following are the name? selected :—J. Strathern, J. Bridson. A. H. McNeil, W. Loram, E. A.' Clark, J. F. McNeil, J. Johnstone, G. Lindsay, Mr. Hoyte, and W. Turner. Emergencies, A. Baker, T. Campbell, and A. James.
