Y.M.C.A. BUILDING.
TO BE COMMENCED SHORTLY.
Amox-ist the new buildings that will shortly be erected in Auckland will be the new Y.M.C.A. premises, which will be constructed on the central site, acquired by the association some time ago, at the corner of Weliesley-slrcet East and Coburg-street, in front of the Free Library. The building will probably be a five-storeyed structure, designed in free Renaissance, and constructed of brick, with cement dressings.
Among the features of the equipment of the building will be a large swimming pool, which will be heated, so that it may be used by members during the winter as well as summer. The gymnasium will be very large, and its equipment will be complete. A spectator's gallery will also extend the whole length of the room. A boys' department will occupy the second floor, and will have all the modem arrangements suited for boys' work. Other features, such as game rooms, social and educational rooms, are having the close attention of the Building Committee.
The association's present property at the corner of Wellesley-street West and Albert-street, will be offered for sale by auction on October 7 .•
