YACHT CLUB'S BAZAAR.

A SUCCESSFUL OPENING. The commodious Drill Hall, Onehunga, was all too small to accommodate the big crowd that, sought admission last evening, when tho Manukau Yacht and Motor Boat Club's bazaar and fair was opened by tho president (Mr. Chas. Bagley) and tho Mayor of Onehunga (Mr. John Howe). Unfortunately the weather was wet, and the searchlight illuminated procession, with its Neptune display, had to he postponed until to-morrow evening. Outside, the hall was done up to represent the entrance to a 'castle, while the interior presented a spectacle of exceptional brilliancy. In addition to gaily-bedecked stalls and attractive side-shows, two pretty playing fountains, a magnificent waterfall, and an old rustic bridge tended to make the hall a veritable fairy tower. The Onehunga Municipal Brass Band, under Conductor W. J. Rowe, greatly enlivened proceedings by rendering a pleasing musical programme. Taken ail round, the function was tho largest, most brilliant, and most successful ever attempted in the district, and on last, evening's results the several hundreds of pounds required to erect the new clubhouse should bo raised without difficulty. Mr. Chas. Bagley (president) and Mr. J. B. Morton (hon. secretary), together with a strong committee, assisted by a ladies' committee, are at the head of affairs, while the decorations were arranged by Messrs. C. W. Faster (artist 1 , John Park (architect), E. Morton, J. Gnocrt, and others.
