OLD HAURAKI. THIRTY POUNDS OF PICKED , STONE. The manager of the Old Hauraki mine, Coromandel, telegraphed as follows ora Saturday'" Ten pounds of' picked stones leading stop©, 220 ft level; 201b second stops*' 400 ft level." WAlffl EXTENDED. The manager of the Waihi Extended mine, in reporting for tho week ended September 6, states that during the week the south-east crosscut was advanced toi 659 ft from the shaft. A few small quartz veins were met with, but none of any importance.The shaft has been sunk to 65ft below No. 5 level, making 1025ffc from the surface. The quartz leader previously reported is still showing in the bottom as sinking proceeds, but so far it has not made an larger. TALISMAN. " [from our own correspondent] London, August 5.
