The men who have been sent Home to man the ships being built for the Australian navy J, have arrived, and are proceeding to Portsmouth to attend torpedo, gunnery, and signalling classes immediately. . ■ ■ Engineer-Lieutenants Robertson and Barnes are' taking a course of instruction in the use of oil fuel.' The passengers on board the steamer Otranto, on which the men made the journey, showed their interest in .the naval draft, by subscribing £132 to purchase two shields for annual gunnery and torpedo com -petitions under service conditions. |
