LOCK-OUT IN GERMANY. i
MILLION PEOPLE AFFECTED. By Telegraph.— Association.— (Receved April 17, 7 p.m.) Berlin, April 16. A general lock-out in the building trade of Germany will begin at midnight, the Hamburg, and Berlin districts being excepted. * The building trades unions rejected the Employers' League's proposals for a new form of a three years' agreement, embodying the recognition of piecework, the continuance of a ten hours' day, and a distinction between capable workers and incapable. . The workers and dependents affected number 1,200,000. MARSEILLES STRIKE OVER. Paris, April 15. Work has been resumed on the Marseilles quays, and six mail steamers were able to sail yesterday.
THE PHILADELPHIA STRIKE.
New York, April 15.
The employees of the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Company have voted at a ballot in favour of the acceptance of the company's term 3 for calling off the strike.
