TYPHOID IN CHRISTCHURCH.

[by telegraph.— ASSOCIATION.] - Christchurch. Thursday. It having been suggested that cases of typhoid occurring in the city at present have been caused in some way by the new high-pressure water supply, the Mayor has had a return, prepared, showing particulars of each of nine cases of typhoid

which have been reported since January 1. Of the nine cases, there is only one in which the patient's residence was connected with the Central Ward high pressure supply, while in two cases the Sydenham supply, which has been in use about four years, was used. The number of cases in the city is not unusual for tire autumn. .. :-,
