The Hokitika Borough Council has resolved to take over the borough waterworks, which have just been completed. The supply is 160 gallons a minute; with a pressure of 1101b to the square inch. The water is conveyed from Lake Kanieri, a distance of about 12 miles. The total cost of the work >. will be about £18,000.
