An address from ,'•"' the altar was .delivered by Father Patterson, who eulogised the late Bishop and '•■ spoke of the great loss which the Church J; arid? diocese had sustained. The "Dead March in Saul" was played as the body Was --being carried out of the church to the station. A large number of people followed the remains to the station plat- ■■;■•.■ form, :, where the scholars of the convent V:,y?cre->waiting,- all wearing black sashes, to ,-Pay the last respects to their beloved bishop. From four to five p.m. all the business places in the town closed as a mark -', of respect, and- flags, including those of the ; "nipping,,were flown at half-mast." The re•./:.:mains were conveved on board the Ngapuhi, which sailed for Auckland at 5.30 p.m. At the social which was held last evening the Bishop seemed in his usual health, though ,/ne complained of feeling a little tired.
