BOMBS AND REVOLVERS.
FIGHT WITH DETECTIVES.

A gang of »15 train robbers boarded a train on which a bank cashier was travelling with a large quantity of gold coin, near Ekaterinoslav. At a given signal 'they threw bombs at and opened fire • with revolvers upon two detectives, who were guarding the cashier. The detectives replied to the fire of the robbers, and in the fight one on each side was killed. •
Under cover of the explosions the robbers seized bags containing £1100. :
They then compelled the driver to stop the train, and all made their escape.
