NORTHERN WAIROA SHOW.

■ , . v.. ; FINE DISPLAY. OF STOCK." . The seventeenth' show of '.he 'northern Wairoa A. /' and P. Association, which was held at . Arupohue on Saturday last, proved a : record in several respects. •' ' The entries exceeded ' 1300, and 'there was "ah-" attendance of : 1500 people, many being visitors from Matakolie, l'apnroa, • Helensville,: and Whangarei. The"' exhibition was a convincing demonstration of the producing •power of the great': Northern' , Wairoa' districts.•

In the horse classes all the animals were ,of high calibre, and -lit' for 'any ring. ~ Mr. A.' E. Harding annexed 4 ,, the principal honours in the heavy gj and light draughts, his I draught ? entire : Morning Times coming in 'for special, l admiration. :Blood atock were of line quality,-.and.'the, stallions' ; Regalj.Cap and St. ; Peter; especially ■ denoted > that in' blue-blooded horses the Wairoo. is ;not deficient. Roadsters were a splendid lot, and the competitions exeited close interest..

Among a the f cattle exhibits the pedigree and grade Shorthorns; were of flue type,-while Devons' ; and j Polled Angus ■' were J well , represented. - In •the; dairying section the cows and heifers betoken;ed 'careful - selection .by ' breeders, and the; fat I and store cattle pens contained pleasing exhibits. Sheep made a.fine showing, especially the RomI liey n Marsh The % fat exhibits were % surprising specimens, and the . pens s of ' ewes ' and ' ewe hoggets could hardly improved upon.
