EUROPEAN COLONISATION. By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright ■ London, February 9. Professor Gregory, late of Melbourne University, read a paper before the Geographical Society on the geographical conditions- controlling Australia's development. His conviction was that there was no region of tropical Australia which Europeans could not colonise.
It would be possible to tell in , 20 years whether colonisation of the tropical territory by whites was practicable within a reasonable time. If not, coloured races might be admitted under stringent regulations confining them to this area.
