MAORI LEASES.
AUCTION AT ROTORUA.

Rotokua, Tuesday. The leases of a number of sections of land were offered by auction to-day by the Maori Land Board. Most-of the large sections were passed in. The following were disposed of — Land near Ngongotaha stream and railway station : Section 1, 22 acres, upset rental £5 10s, Martin Bros., at £8; section 2, 50 acres, upsent rental £12 10s, Martin Bros., at £21; section 4, 200 acres, upset rental £15, Martin Bros., at upset price; section 6, 2 acres 1 rood, upset rental £2, C. Griffiths, at £2 10s; section 7, 4 acres, upset rental £2, S. Fruiter, at £2 10s; section 8, 4 acres, upset rental £2, -Martin Bros., at ,£2 10s; section 9, 4 acrcs, upset rental £2 10s, A. G. Cottrell, at upset price; » section 10,*4 acres, upset rental £2 10s . — Dohl, at £3 10s; section 11, 4 acres, upset rental £2 10s, — Fountain, at £4. Tapuaekura (land lying . between Tikitere and Rotoiti) : Section 1, 387 ; acres, upset rental, Is per acre, John. Watt, "at upset price. . . Owhatiura South : A number of sections were offered. The only one finding a buyer was section 53, of 47 acres, at an - upset rental of £5, the purchaser being a native named Amotawa, at £6.
