Robertson, who went ashore at Danedin for orders.* Mr. M. Paramour is second officer of the Tarawera. and Mr. J. Thorpe, late of the Wttlkare, is third officer. The barque Ganymede sails for Noumea and Surprise Island to-day. Captain McLean has taken charge of the Ramon* at Wellington and Captain Stringer is standing by the Takapuna, which vessel resumes her running on Tuesday next. After being laid up at Port Chalmers for about three months the Union Company's steamer Wairuna has been recommissioned and has gone to West port to load coal for Wellington. Captain .1. M. A cablegram received by the New Zealand and African Steamship Company states that the s.s. Buteshire left Liverpool on Saturday last for Australian and New Zealand ports. In addition to bringing cargo for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin the Buteshire will also discharge all the Bluff. She la expected to reach Auckland early in February next. THE TALUNE. The Union Company's steamer Triune, from the Cook and Society Island*, is expected to arrive at Auckland to-day. . ■. A. AND A. CHARTER. According to advice received in Auckland the' A and A. Line has chartered the steamer Aberlour to load at New Tork for Australian and New Zealand paril She will take her departure from New York on January 31. 1910. and is expected to reach Auckland about April 16. The Aberlour visited Auckland in February last in the A. and A. Line's interest. She is a steel screw- steamer of 3973 tons gross, and is owned by the Adam Steamship Company, of Aberdeen. , AUCHENDALE FROM NEW YORK. The cargo steamer Auchendalc, Captain C. J. Soutar, arrived from New York, via Durban, at 3 in. yesterday with a full cargo of case oil, and, being granted pratique, berthed at Queen-street Wharf, She commenced her voyage from New York on October 2 and experienced fresh southeast trades till arrival at Durban on November 8. Here the vessel took In a supply of bunker coal, and resumed her journey on the following dav. After leaving Durban the Auchefidalc encountered fairly good weather for 14 days, thence strong west gales and heavy seas. These conditions continued for about a week, when line weather was again picked up. lasting till arrival at Auckland. While the gale laMed the steamer rolled very heavily and shipped a quantity of water, but suffered no damage whatever. The Auchendalc called off Westport on Saturday to take in a supply of 700 tons of bunker coal, but. as her loaded draught, was excessive tor the port she continued her voyage to Auckland. She will probably return to Westport for bunker coal on discharge of her New Zealand freight. From Auckland the vessel will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedir.
