AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

Tire sharomarket was again quiet yesterday. In investment stocks only two sales wore recorded, viz., in Auckland Trams (ordinary) at 21s 3d, and Now Zealand Portland Cements at 38s. In mining lines Waihis sold at £9 19s, the market closing with buyers at £9 18s, sellers at £10. Waihi Extendeds realised 3s Bd. Grand Junctions were dealt in at from 36s 3d to 35s 6d, and moro were inquired for at tho latter figure, with sellers at 35s 9d. Talismans improved, selling at from 43s 6d to 44s 3d, as against 43s 3d, the last salo recorded on Saturday. Closing quotations were buyers 44s 3d, sellers 44s 6d. Other stocks commanded tho usual prices.

PROPERTY SALES. The Benfield Kstate, Mount Albert, comprising 16 sections and homestead, was offered for sale by auction by Messrs. Smith and Xlalcombe on the ground oil Saturday. There whs a good attendance and five sections found purchasers at prices ranging from 45k to 60s per foot. The remaining sections were passed in, the prices offered failing to reach the reserves. The homestead, comprising a residence of 12 rooms and 14 sections of land, was sold for £2150.

WELLINGTON FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKET. [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Monday, The continued hot weather is creating a heavy demand for all lines of fruit, which generally are in short supply. Strawberries have been arriving only moderately of late. The demand is strong for sound berries at from Is 3d to Is 6d per box and for prime at from Is to Is 2d. Cherries: Choice black dessert, 10s to 12s per half-ease; prime, 7s to 9s. Lemons arc scarce and are selling at from 6s to 8s per case, lied currants, Is. to 5s per half-case. Gooseberries, 2d per lb. Grapes, 2s to 2s 6d per lb. Arrivals of bananas are awaited, as the market is bare, and high rates are anticipated. Potatoes; Old are getting very scarce, but new have come forward in much heavier quantities. The market is consequently weaker at from 6s to 7s 6d per cwt. Onions are in short supply, selling at from 9s to 10s per cwt. Cauliflowers, 6s to 8s per sack; cabbages, 6s to 8s per sack. Tomatoes: Choice, 6d to 8d per lb. Cucumbers, 3s to 9s per dozen, according to size. French beans, 6d per lb. Asparagus, 6s to 9s per dozen bundles. Fresh eggs have hardened, being now done at from Is to Is Id per dozen.
