NEARLY DROWNED.
RESCUED JUST IN "TIME. [by telegraph.—press association.] Wancanui, Monday. A toung man named W. Easier had a narrow escape from drowning while bathing in the river yesterday. He was an expert swimmer, having won many races in the Old Country. A lad named Neilson, who was bathing with Hasler, saw the latter sink after coming to the surface once or twice, and dived in after him. Others came to his assistance, and Hasler was brought ashore unconscious. Resuscitative work was applied for half an hour, and a lot of water was pumped out of Hasler. who recovered.
