The Norwegian iron barque Dalston (ex Rangi- ; tiki, ex Scimitar), 1097 tons register, built by the Ilumber Ironworks Company, Hull, in 1863, has been sold to French buyers, with delivery in New Caledonia. THE AMOK UK A. The New Zealand Government training-ship Amokura left for Wellington at 11.30 a.m. yesterday. She will probably remain in th-;- gulf for a day or two for lead and steering exercises, and is 'expected to reach Wellington about the 13th inst.

THE XBRAWHITI'S TOW. The 530 miles tow of the Tavitini, from Westport to Port Chalmers, by the tug Terawhiti, was * favoured with fine weather and moderate seas as far ms Banks' Peninsula. A heavy swell and fog •were then encountered till arrival at Otago Heads ac 3 a.m. on Wednesday last. Then assistance was rendered by other tugs to bring the Taviunl alongside the wharf. The only incident of note that happened was the parting of the tow-line where the tug's hawser was shackled to the '["avium's cable, which delayed progress for an hour south of Cape Campbell. The Tavhini was itecred by a -temporary wooden rudder fitted to * a wooden stern-post. While ashore the Taviuni w*» cleaned and painted. Fart of the railing is , curried away. ANTIOPE AT SAN" FRANCISCO. A private cable message wa* received at Wellington on Friday announcing the arrival of the barque Antiope at San Francisco after a lengthy passage of 69 days from Wellington. The message reports All well." The Antiope origin ally left Newcastle on September 7, but, owing to the illness of the master and owner (Captain I. J. 14 Mathieson), the barque put unexpectedly into Wellington on September 20 for medical assistance. Captain Mathieson came ashore to .a private hospital, and Captain Cozens, of Wellington, took charge of the Antiope, which resumed her voyage on September 25. Captain Mathieson was afterwards able to proceed by steamer, and will rejoin the Antiope at. "Frisco. -

SUGAR CARGOES. According to cable advices the s.s. 'Vennachar left Java on the 22nd . ult. for Sydney. The steamer Glendevon sailed on the 13th lilt, for Adelaide, and shortly the s.s. Ardmount will be despatched, also bound to the same South Australian port. The message adds that the steamer •Jura, which was fixed some week.', ago to load at Java for Auckland, has been withdrawn and replaced by the steamer British Monarch. These four vessels are bringing full cargoes of sugar.

THE FIJI STEAMER. Last evening the s.s. Navun, Captain R. O. Button, arrived from Fiji. and, being granted pratique, berthed at Queen-street Wharf. She left Suva at 6.20 p.m. on Thursday last and experienced light, south-east and south-west winds and tine weather throughout, the trip, 'lhe Navua. leaves for Wellington to-day.
