EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.

[FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] t Cambridge, Monday. The thirty-first week of the North Island Egglaying Association's third competition was concluded oil Friday last. The weather during the fceek was favourable. The highest layings for the week were Championship class J. W. Urnham's white Leghorns, 32. Light breeds: W. (i. Care's white Leghorns, 30; W. Kuncinmn's brown Leghorns, 29; W. M. Bankart's white Leghorns, 29; Mrs. J. Salt's white Leghorns, 29. Heavy breeds: Waikato Argus' black Orpingtons, 30; Chamber of Commerce's white Wyandottes, 29; W. D. Shepherd's black Orpingtons, 27. The leading pens at date are: —Championship class: ,J. W. Graham's white Leghorns, 735. Light breeds : W. Runciman's brown Leghorns, 801; A. H. railman's white Leghorns, 789; Raglan County Chronicle's white Leghorns, 772. Heavy breeds: F. J. Marfell's black Orpingtons, 861; C. M. Peck's black Orpingtons, 713; Waikato Argus' black Orpingtons, 710. Duck Competition: S. H. Scott's Indian Runners, 34 for week, total 1065; W. Knight's Indian Runners, 24—1084; T. Dowthwaite's Indian Runners, 23—939; J. Smeaton's Indian Runners, 24— 871; C. Hammond's Indian Runners, 361044; Mrs. ,1. Scott's buff Orpingtons, 17806. In the poultry section the monthly prize for November was won in the light section by W. M. Bankart's white Leghorns with a total of 129 eggs and in the heavy section by F. J. Marfell's black Orpingtons with a total of 122 eggs.
