SCULLING.

THE FOXTON PROFESSIONAL

HANDICAP,

WON BY FKLTOM. [BY TELEGRAPH.—riIKSS ASSOCIATION.]

Palmekston North, Friday,

Splendid conditions prevailed to-day for deciding the final of the Foxton Professional Sculling Handicap, but the attendance of the public was again disappointingly small, there being not more than about 300 people to witness the completion of the rowing. The starters were: S. Ilagney (10s.). R. Green (18s.), B. Larsen (205.), S. Kemp (24*.), A. D. Fclton (245.), and T. Lawson (605.). Felton, rowing in good style, soon got in front, and maintaining, lead to the end, beat Kemp, the next man, by about two lengths, with llagney, the scratch man, about four lengths off. Lawson, Green, and Larsen finished in that order, all well up to the first three. The' winner, who is only 21 yean old, is of magnificent physique, standing 6ft lin, and weighing list. Most of the competitors in the above race are staying in New Zealand to attend the big Wnngu-' nui carnival next month. The interval will be spent in active training, and the finishing touches put on should result in even better performances than were put up at Foxton. "
