GERMANY'S DREADNOUGHTS

Within three months Germany has launched three 19,000-ton battleships and a 22,000-ton cruiser, as compared with Great Britain's cruisers Neptune (20,000 tons) and Indefatigable, and the small < cruiser Blanche. The naval policy of Germany was long .ago declared by Frederick William 1., and confirmed in the same pregnant phraseology by the present Emperor at the Zeughaus in Berlin on New Year's Day, 1900—"The force behind ';. the diplomatic pen of Germany, deciding her place in the world, is the strong fleet which she is bending all her efforts to create and maintain." :". ■'.">;, ;_■:>■•.'- -■
