DROWNING ACCIDENT.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Blenheim, Monday. A drowning accident occurred in the Opawa River this morning. Mrs. Brown, wife of James Brown, bootmaker, went out, accompanied by her. adopted daughter, a child of about four years, for the purpose of catching whitebait. * Suddenly the womaß disappeared to the bottom of the river. . The child ran to the house of a neighbour, who, with assistance,, recovered the body. , A doctor . was summoned, but found life extinct. ..."
