STORE AT CLEVEDON BURNED.

Further particulars of the fire at Clevedon, Southern Wairoa, on Sunday, showthat' it involved the. total destruction of Messrs. Robertson . Brothers' and Mr. R. Couldrey's premises. . Messrs. Robertson Brothers had, as combined , store and dwellinghouse, a very substantial building, carrying a large stock of. general merchandise. The fire broke out in , the store. ' Mr. Robertson and family were away at the time, and nothing was; saved. ■. Mr. Couldrev's v residence, adjoining;' was - also destroyed," but' all the', 'furtive- was saved. Messrs. - Robertson' Brothers' -bakehouse and large iron storeroom were not destroyed, nor Mr. Couldrey's bootmaker's shop or outbuildings. C. Hill,' turned ,out quickly. It was then discovered that a fire had broken but in the lamp-room oil',the Union Company's collier Kotuku, which was lying at tie wharf. A bucket brigade; however, had extinguished the fire before much damage had been done. -
